Eco-entrepreneur

11- 15 December             2023

In Foligno, Italy, the project provided a firsthand exploration of social entrepreneurship, emphasizing the crucial role of businesses in environmental sustainability. The experience showcased how eco-entrepreneurship can create a balance between economic development and environmental responsibility, offering creative and inclusive solutions for a more sustainable future.

The journey began with a visit to Ariel Cooperativa Sociale, a cooperative that integrates organic farming with social inclusion. Participants observed how special needs individuals are given opportunities to engage in sustainable agriculture, gaining both skills and confidence in an environment that values both people and nature. This experience highlighted how entrepreneurship can be both economically viable and socially impactful.

A glimpse into eco-innovation followed at ITT Leonardo da Vinci Institute, where students presented an eco-car they had designed and built. This mechatronic invention demonstrated how technology can support sustainable mobility, providing solutions for both rural accessibility and inclusive transportation for people with disabilities. The presentation sparked discussions on how innovation and engineering can contribute to green solutions, making sustainable transportation more accessible and adaptable.

The connection between physical and psychological well-being was explored at Amoenus Farm, an organic farm in Pale, where sustainability is at the heart of its operations. Participants experienced organic farming practices firsthand, learning how local businesses collaborate to promote eco-friendly food production and combat food waste. The visit was complemented by a hatha yoga session, reinforcing the link between mental clarity, emotional balance, and environmental consciousness. This reflective moment provided an opportunity to internalize the broader themes of sustainability and personal well-being, demonstrating how a mindful approach to life supports ecological awareness.

The experience concluded with a brainstorming session at the E.In.E. headquarters, where participants reflected on the businesses and initiatives they had encountered. The discussions encouraged critical thinking about eco-entrepreneurship, and participants explored how these concepts could be adapted to their own communities. To further amplify the experience, students participated in a live radio broadcast on "DJ Work," sharing their insights with a broader audience and disseminating the key takeaways from the mobility.

By engaging with real-world examples of sustainable business models, innovative engineering, and mindful living, the activities in Foligno highlighted the power of entrepreneurship as a driver for environmental and social change. The experience demonstrated that eco-conscious businesses are not just an ideal but a necessary step toward a future where economic growth and sustainability go hand in hand.
